Return
Come back to God honestly and let grace meet you where you really are.
Week 1 · Day 1
Central Scripture
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him.”
Luke 15:20
Reflection
One of the quiet lies many people carry is this: I need to get myself together before I can come back to God. But the gospel has never been about cleaning yourself up enough to be welcomed home. It has always been about a Father who sees you from far away and moves toward you with compassion. The son in Luke 15 did not return polished. He returned tired, humbled, and aware of how far he had drifted. Yet before he could fully explain himself, the father ran to him. Love moved first. Mercy reached before performance could speak. That is still God’s posture toward you. You may be returning after inconsistency, distraction, numbness, or exhaustion. But the invitation today is not to impress God. It is to return honestly. God is not waiting for a future version of you to begin loving you. He welcomes the real you. The tired you. The uncertain you. The you that still wants Him, even weakly. You do not need to force a breakthrough today. You only need to come back.
Prayer
Pause: God, I slow down and come before You. Admit: Parts of me feel tired, distant, and distracted. Receive: Thank You that You welcome me before I have the right words. Ask: Help me come to You honestly today. Surrender: I release the pressure to prove myself spiritually. Rest: Let me rest in the truth that I am welcomed by You.
Spend a moment in prayerDaily Step
Spend two quiet minutes saying only this: “God, I am here.”
